A letter of invitation and/or written proof of a hotel reservation are required in order to apply for a visa. This letter should be stamped by the Direction Départementale de la Surveillance du Territoire (DDST) in the Republic of Congo. Your local sponsor should arrange this for you. This letter should be available for presentation to immigration officials upon arrival in the Republic of Congo. When entering Brazzaville, it is a common practice for a nurse to perform an infrared temperature scan before immigration. Upon entry, you will be required to present your vaccination card (yellow card).
The Democratic Republic of Congo’s (DRC) capital Kinshasa is located across the Congo river from Brazzaville. It is advisable to obtain a visa for the DRC in the U.S.
