Includes information on internet accessibility, the cellular phone technology in use, which U.S. cell phone services work in this country, the prevalence of Wi-Fi in hotels, what types of voltage and plugs are used, and other technological information of interest to U.S. businesses.

Telecommunications are generally adequate and reliable. Cellular service is available in the major cities and the interior of the country.  Local connection to the Internet is expensive and somewhat unreliable, although the situation is improving with the recent completion of a fiber optic link to the West Africa Cable System.  There is no landline service available in the Republic of Congo. The Republic of Congo government has at times cut internet, SMS, and even voice access during times of anticipated political tensions or security challenges.

Electric service is unreliable and back-up generators are essential for offices and homes.  Electric service is 220v.  The Republic of Congo uses the European-type two pin plugs.
