Purpose of Data Collection
Generally, in the course of its business, Lionbridge will have access to Personal Data consisting of personnel information related to its Personnel and business contact information of its Business Contacts and Contractors (“Business Contact Information”) or any such information that is contained in materials provided to Lionbridge for the purpose of obtaining translation, interpretation, testing or other commercial services. Lionbridge works with a global network of freelance Vendors in performance of translation, interpretation, testing, consulting and localization services. These Vendors may be exposed to Personal Data in performance of these services. We collect HR Data from prospective and present employees only for legitimate business purposes, including (1) the management and operations of our company, its functions and activities, (2) employee communications, including employee surveys, evaluation, feedback, instructions, security and training, (3) maintaining a global directory, (4) carrying out obligations under employment contracts and employment, tax and benefits laws, and in connection with other working relationships or arrangements, (5) development and training programs, (6) recruiting and hiring job applicants, (7) assessing qualifications and performance, (8) performing background checks and verifying references, (9) managing employee performance, (10) determining employee compensation or payment, (11) managing the employee termination process, (12) accessing and using Lionbridge’s global technology network, (13) ensuring wages and benefits are paid promptly, (14) meeting customer obligations regarding the skills, expertise and background of employees who may be performing work for their benefit, (15) preventing fraud or criminal activity, misuses of our services as well as the security of our technology systems, architecture and networks, and premises, and (16) other general human resources purposes.
