Purpose of Data Collection
Pluralsight, LLC provides a SaaS training platform for IT, software developer, and creative technology professionals through individual subscriptions or through subscriptions acquired by an individual’s employer on the user’s behalf. The platform includes training courses as well as tools for assessing an individual’s skill level. To establish an account and enable access to the training platform and tools, Pluralsight requires certain limited contact information from each user such as name and email address. Such contact information may be provided by the user directly or acquired from the user’s employer. Users may also provide additional personal information where they elect to participate in Pluralsight sponsored events on the platform such as group forums. In the course of providing the training and tools, additional information is generated for each user such as course history and performance data. Pluralsight engages certain third parties to provide limited services on its behalf such as data storage, subscription management, and customer relationship management. All such third parties will process personal data of Pluralsight users solely to the extent necessary to deliver the services for which Pluralsight has retained them in furtherance of the online training platform, and they are prohibited from using such personal data for any other purpose. From time to time, Pluralsight may offer users access to third party services. Where a user elects to participate in such third party services, the user engages with the third party directly and is subject to the terms and conditions of the third party including the third party’s privacy notice.

Although Pluralsight does not rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework as the only legal basis for transfers of personal data in light of the judgment of the Court of Justice of the EU in Case C-311/18, Pluralsight LLC does comply with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (EU-U.S. DPF), the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Swiss-U.S. DPF) as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce. Pluralsight LLC has certified to the U.S. Department of Commerce that it adheres to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework Principles (EU-U.S. DPF Principles) with regard to the processing of personal data received from the European Union in reliance on the EU-U.S. DPF and from the United Kingdom (and Gibraltar) under the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF. Pluralsight LLC has certified to the U.S. Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework Principles (Swiss-U.S. DPF Principles) with regard to the processing of personal data received from Switzerland in reliance on the Swiss-U.S. DPF. If there is any conflict between the terms in this privacy policy and the EU-U.S. DPF Principles and/or the Swiss-U.S. DPF Principles, the Principles shall govern.
