Purpose of Data Collection

IntelePeer has two business units, one that provides media and communications services to large, medium, and small businesses. During the contract phase of the new customer on-boarding process, both business units collect similar information about the customer including all or some of the following: Company Name, Service Address, Legal Address, Business Contact Name, Phone, and Email Address, Technical Contact Name, Phone, and Email Address, Telephone Number Management Contact Name, Phone, and Email Address, Email Addresses for Legal Notices, Invoice Delivery, and Rate Notifications, and the product or products the customer is interested in. The data is updated as needed over time for account maintenance. Once the customer is in production we collect and store Call Detail Records (CDRs) that include calling number, called number, billable minutes, and call disposition. CDR records are forwarded to a third-party for costing and rating. CDRs are archived using a cloud service for 3 years based on FCC regulations. Customer data is stored on secure local data base servers, in the cloud, and in our CRM system. On our corporate website, a third party provides cookies and activity tracking. The third party tracks visitor and prospect activities on the website and landing pages by setting cookies on visitor's browsers. Cookies are set to remember preferences, such as form field values, when a visitor returns to the site. The third party also sets a cookie for logged-in users to maintain the session and remember table filters. First-party cookies are set for tracking purposes, and third-party cookies are set for redundancy. Using first-party and third-party cookies together is standard in the marketing automation industry. The cookies do not store Personally Identifiable Information, only a unique identifier. First-party cookies are set on our tracker subdomains and third party domains. Third-party cookies are used on https pages and when our account doesn’t have a tracker subdomain set up. If a customer opens a trouble ticket we collect contact name and number, and the nature of the problem.
