Purpose of Data Collection
Snowflake provides a generally available software-as-a-service offering and associated services to businesses all over the world, acting as a data processor on behalf of those businesses. We collect personal information in connection with our software-as-a-service offering, our websites, and our events, sales and marketing activities. With respect to our software-as-a-service offering, Snowflake processes personal information that our customers and their authorized users upload and store in the service. The personal information types that our customers upload is at their discretion (subject to any limitations in our contracts and our Acceptable Use Policy, available at https://www.snowflake.com/legal/) and we only process such information in accordance with their instructions (as set out in our Terms of Service and Customer Data Processing Addendum, available at https://www.snowflake.com/legal/). Snowflake shares personal information with third parties, including Snowflake affiliates, third party vendors and other service providers, third party business partners, and other third parties to comply with laws or respond to lawful requests, or in connection with any business transfer, merger, financing, or reorganization of our business or assets.
