Purpose of Data Collection

OwnBackup processes personal data as a data controller in order to (i) operate, support, improve, and develop our Services including the facilitation of sales and marketing activities, (ii) Perform accounting, bookkeeping, auditing, and billing activities, (iii) anonymize Personal Data, prepare and furnish aggregated data reports showing anonymized information, (iv) evaluate an individuals interest in employment and contact them regarding possible employment, (v) to protect against fraud and ensure safety and security, (vi) to enforce our Terms and Conditions (including our Subscription Services Agreement), and (vii) in order to comply with our own legal and regulatory obligations. In addition OwnBackup processes personal data as a data processor on behalf of our customers, based on their lawful instructions as data controller.

Our Privacy Notice was recently updated for a variety of reasons, including for the purposes of DPF updates. In addition, it was decided to split these into two separate notices (Non-HR and HR data). For the sake of this submission (given that we can only submit one document) we have combined both notices in one document. In due course, they will be published on our website (and replace the existing one).
