Purpose of Data Collection
GoFundMe, Inc. collects, stores and processes personal data from individuals who use the GoFundMe and Crowdrise platforms to engage in fundraising activities. These individuals may be located anywhere in the world including within the EU, Switzerland, and EEA. The data collected by GoFundMe includes information that individuals provide directly to GoFundMe, such as name, email address and location; information that is passively collected, such as device and usage; and information from users’ social networking accounts. GoFundMe uses the information to provide its fundraising platform service, prevent fraud, respond to requests from law enforcement, and to improve GoFundMe’s services.
