Purpose of Data Collection

ChefSteps may process personal data, such as transaction information, website log information, product use information, location information, and information collected by cookies, in reliance on the Privacy Shield for various purposes. These purposes may include providing, maintaining and improving our services, including by linking or combining personal data with information we get from others, providing and delivering the products and services that users request, and processing transactions and sending users related information. These purposes may also include sending users technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages, responding to users’ comments, questions and requests, and providing customer service. ChefSteps may process personal data for the purposes of communicating with users about products, services, classes, recipes, offers, promotions, events and other news and information we think will be of interest to users and for the purposes of facilitating contests, sweepstake and promotions. ChefSteps may also process personal data for the purposes of monitoring and analyzing trends, usage and activities in connection with our services, and to personalize and improve our services and provided tailored advertisements, content or features to users. ChefSteps purposes for processing personal data may also include detecting, investigating and preventing fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities, and protecting the rights, property and safety of ChefSteps and others. In addition to processing personal data, ChefSteps may disclose such personal data with third parties for a number of reasons. We may disclose personal data with third-party vendors, consultants and other service providers who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf, and with suppliers of third-party products that users may purchase through us, so as to fulfill their orders. If users connect third-party devices and services to their ChefSteps account or our services, personal data may be shared with such third parties, as per user direction and consent. When users sign up for and participate in the interactive areas of our services, certain personal data may be displayed publicly. ChefSteps may disclose personal data in response to a request for information if we believe disclosure is in accordance with, or required by, any applicable law, regulation or legal process or if we believe that users’ actions are inconsistent with our user agreements or policies, or to protect the rights, property and safety of ChefSteps or others.
