Purpose of Data Collection

Payscale engages in data processing activities for itself as a controller and on behalf of its corporate customers and B2C users (including website visitors/users) as a processor. For its internal purposes, Payscale processes personal data of employees and contractors including HR data. Such data does not (yet) include any EU HR data processed in the context of an employment relationship, although UK data is currently in scope for employment purposes. As a Saas provider in the HR space, Payscale does process compensation and other HRIS data on behalf of its corporate customers in order to provide the purchased service(s), albeit not "HR Data" in the sense that this data is not collected in the context of an employment relationship with Payscale. Such personal data processed on behalf of customers may include name, email address, job title, salary, and for pay equity analyses gender and race/ethnicity. Payscale may also process select personal data of product and site users to provide the services, including IP address and location data. Finally, Payscale utilizes third party service providers for elements of the services it provides such as data storage, customer relationship management, and web analytics. All third party service providers with any access to customer personal data are signatories to Data Processing Agreements including the latest language required for restricted international transfers of personal data.
