Purpose of Data Collection

Non-Human Resources Data: When a website user visits our websites, we record their visit in a log file, including the name of each accessed webpage, the date and time of access, the data volume transferred, the operating system used, the referrer URL (the previously visited website), their IP address and the access requesting provider. We collect this information in order to ensure website security. When a website user opens a customer account and orders from us, we collect their name, address, email address, phone number, and credit card number with expiration date, as well as their usage data, such as user name, password, and purchase information. We collect this information in order to identify them as a customer, process orders, deliver products and services, and manage customer purchases and accounts. When a website user submits an inquiry, we collect their name, email address, and zip code in order to process and respond to inquiries. When a website user submits an application for employment purposes, we collect their name, address, telephone, email, preferred workplace, previous work experience, skills, referral information, and application documents that they choose to submit. Such information is processed for recruitment purposes, and is used solely for the purpose of processing and handling the application request. When a website user uses our form for scheduling appointments, we collect their name, email address and other contact details, and selection of language. This information is used to process and handle the request. When a website user enters a sweepstakes or contest online, we collect their name, address, email address, and phone number, and may also ask them for additional information, such as their age, interests, product preferences, or zip code. We process such information to administer the sweepstakes or contest. When a website user indicates that they want to receive marketing emails from us, we collect their name and email address to send offers and information about our websites, or products, services, and events offered by us or one of our affiliates, including for marketing and promotional purposes (as permitted by law). Human Resources Data: Berlitz may collect personal information from past or present employees of Berlitz (or any of its affiliates, franchisees, agents, and other subsidiaries) including their name, address, phone number, and other contact details, employment and academic history, financial information, age, gender, nationality, date and place of birth, marital status, language skills, employee and government IDs, income, dates of employment, and tax information. Human Resources Data may be transferred to and processed by Berlitz, for purposes of administration and communication, and to comply with labor law requirements. Data Recipients: Berlitz may share personal information with certain entities that control us, are controlled by us, or are under common control with us, including Berlitz Corporation; Berlitz Investment Corporation; Berlitz Publishing Company, Inc.; Berlitz Franchising Corporation; ELS Educational Services, Inc.; World Wide Speaking SARL; Second Language Testing, Inc.; Training Management Corporation; and Versation, Inc., for purposes of administration and communication, and to comply with labor law requirements. Berlitz may also share personal information with outside companies that perform services for Berlitz. For example, we may retain an outside company to manage a database containing certain customer information, to create and distribute an email offering, or to process and respond to inquiries and requests. Berlitz may also share personal information in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. We may also disclose personal information in order to enforce or apply our rights and agreements.
