Purpose of Data Collection

As described in more detail in the Privacy Policy of Mark Business Intelligence Systems (company), the types of personal data of an individual or organization (user) processed by the company include organization, customer, client and visitor data. The company uses this information for a variety of purposes, including to: * Provide, operate, maintain, personalize, customize and improve its public website (website) and its non-public, customer-licensed, compliance software applications and services (compliance software services); * Enable users to access and use the compliance software services; * Send alerts and other messages to users; * Communicate with users about services, promotions and other company information; * Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with its website or its compliance software services, and for marketing or advertising purposes; * Investigate and prevent fraudulent transactions, unauthorized access to the compliance software services, and other illegal activities; * Link or combine with other information the company receives from third parties to help understand the needs of its users, and to provide its users with better service; * Enable users to communicate, collaborate, and share content with other designated users; and * For other purposes about which the company notifies users. Regarding disclosure of personal data to third parties, the company will not share personal data about a user with any third parties except as described in its Privacy Policy and any Privacy Notice, such as: * Government Officials: The company may be required to release personal data in response to a lawful request by public authorities including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. In addition, the company may disclose personal data to a third party if (a) the company believes that disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, (b) to enforce agreements, policies and terms of service of the company, (c) to protect the security or integrity of the compliance software services, (d) to protect the company, its customers or the public from harm or illegal activities, or (e) to respond to an emergency which the company believes in good faith requires us to disclose information to assist in preventing the death or serious bodily injury of any person. * Authorized Collaborators: User information may be shared when users choose to collaborate with other users or third parties within the compliance software services that by their nature support data sharing. * Organizations Related to users: If a user accesses or operates the compliance software services as part of, or at the invitation of, a customer of the company (for example, the customer may be the employer, customer or contractor of the user), then that customer organization is the controller, and has independent access and control over the personal data and content that the user uploads or provides into the compliance software services. * Vendors, Consultants and Other Service Providers: The company may share the information of users with certain third party contractors who have a contractual obligation of non-disclosure, and who require access to the information of users to carry out work on behalf of the company. * Business Successors: The company may share or transfer personal data in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of its business to another organization.
