Purpose of Data Collection
Malwarebytes provides security software to consumers and businesses. We may collect information: (1) when prospects and/or customers interact with certain portions of our website, such as our forums, blogs, and support center; (2) when customers license and use our software; and (3) when people communicate with us by email, chat, or otherwise. Information may include contact information (such as name, email address, mailing address, or phone number); Unique Identifiers (such as username and password); and information about a business (such as company name, company size, business type) Our software collects information about a customer's use of the software as well as transfers of information between the computers that run the software and our servers and malicious activity. This helps us ensure our software is operating correctly and to confirm license status. We engage a limited number of third-party service providers to administer and provide some services on our behalf such as fulfilling orders and delivering updates, payment processing, providing customer service, sending marketing communications, conducting research and analysis, and providing cloud computing.
