Purpose of Data Collection
HR Data -- to hire, employ, compensate, provide benefits to and manage our workforce, including applicants, employees and former employees, and their family members and other beneficiaries; Customers' Data -- to implement, operate, service, support, test, engage, assess, benchmark, propose, market, sell and configure our offerings and services with respect to our business/institutional customer prospects, customers and business-alliance partners, for on-premises, off-site, hosted (by Teradata and/or third party cloud service providers), software-as-a-service, managed services and cloud processing for data warehousing, big data, business analytics and associated computer, software and services, which may include Teradata processing data for our customers and customer prospects, such as with respect to our customers' HR data and data regarding our customers' customers, clients, constituents, consumers and markets. Visitor Data -- to provide training, marketing, technical documentation, advertising, subscriptions, information and online engagement with those who visit our websites, social media sites or otherwise communicate with us. Third-Party Vendors and Others to Whom Data May be Disclosed -- whether Teradata serves as the "data controller" (for example, regarding our own HR Data and Visitor Data) or as the "data processor" (for example, regarding our Customers' Data), we may use third-party vendors to serve as "data processors" or "sub-processors" to us (such as for employment applicants, recruiting, payroll, benefits, training, cloud providers, data center providers, cloud service providers, other service providers, subcontractors, business-alliance partners and marketing/advertising services) and we may disclose data to government agencies as required by and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations (such as, but not limited to, for compensation, tax, benefits and social benefits reporting, in connection with audits and when required by courts of competent jurisdiction and other agencies of competent jurisdiction).
