Purpose of Data Collection
New Relic provides software and online tools that our customers use to monitor and analyze how their software is working, collaborate on software code, and improve along the software development lifecycle. These include tools for monitoring server operations, mobile applications, web applications, and back end infrastructure, and software code in integrated development environments, among others. In providing these tools, New Relic processes data our customers submit to our services or instruct us to process on their behalf. New Relic customers can configure their software to send New Relic personal data beyond simple timing or analytics information, most typically including information like IP address or other user information, such as other code and software collaborators. New Relic also processes customer and prospective customer information to provide and bill for the services, and for sales and marketing purposes. We also collect personal data from visitors of our public websites, such as https://newrelic.com/, https://discuss.newrelic.com, https://learn.newrelic.com, https://codestream.com, and/or our applications, in order to administer, improve and analyze our websites, to provide advertising on third party sites and for such other purposes described in our Privacy Notices. We share personal data with vendors, consultants and service providers who work on our behalf, with select third party vendors for data enrichment and other purposes, with our affiliates, with third parties where we are legally required to do so, to protect the vital interests or legal rights of New Relic or other individuals, or in connection with corporate transactions. Please see our Privacy Notices for further information. For clarity, New Relic's certification applies equally to the operations of companies New Relic has acquired over time that link to one of the policies listed on this certification.
