Purpose of Data Collection
Tableau uses personal data of customers, potential customers, partners and vendors to provide, deliver, and improve upon products or services; respond to comments and questions and provide customer service; send information about promotions, upcoming events, and news about products and services offered by Tableau and our selected partners; link or combine information with other personal information obtained from third parties to improve service; enforce our terms and conditions or protect our business, partners, or users; and protect against, investigate, and deter fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity. Tableau discloses personal data to a limited number of vendors who assist Tableau in providing services to customers; to corporate affiliates and sales partners; in response to legal requests, such as a court order, subpoena or law enforcement request, or to take action related to suspected illegal activity, fraud or breach of our agreements; in the context of a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy or similar proceeding; lastly, aggregated, anonymized or statistical information may be shared with others for a variety of purposes, including for their own uses, for example, for improving their products and services for Tableau and others.
