Purpose of Data Collection
comScore may contract with third party vendors to append offline data with data received from members of comScore’s panels. While certain personally identifiable information (PII) may be required to perform the data append, the third party vendor is not allowed to use the data for any other purpose and is required to destroy all data following the append. The combined data is then anonymized and used by customers of comScore who purchase market research. comScore subsidiaries TMRG, Inc., VoiceFive, Inc., and Creative Knowledge, Inc. (the subsidiaries) compile Internet usage information from millions of Internet research panel members to create research reports on Internet trends and e-commerce activities. Members explicitly consent to join our panels for the purpose of participating in market research in exchange for access to promotions offered by the subsidiaries and their partners. During registration, members may submit their names and other PII for the purposes of facilitating communication with the subsidiaries or for receiving promotions. The subsidiaries do not provide PII about their panel members to the recipients of our research reports or any other third parties. Another comScore subsidiary, Full Circle Studies, Inc. compiles usage information from webpages that choose to include Full Circle Studies tags. The collected information is used to supplement research reports on Internet trends and e-commerce activities. Full Circle Studies makes commercially reasonable efforts to prevent the transmission to the United States of PII from EU and Swiss internet users who have visited participating webpages. Full Circle Studies also collects survey data, which may be completed by EU and Swiss users.
