Purpose of Data Collection

Hearken works with client organizations in a data processor capacity. To that end, Hearken may collect and store individuals’ information including name, email, location and postal code. The data is owned by the client organization, and Hearken is a data processor. The data is encrypted at rest and in transit.

Description:

Hearken Privacy Shield-Complaint Privacy Policy Statement: Our decision to join the Privacy Shield program is entirely voluntary. We have developed our Privacy Shield-Compliant Privacy Policy. Through internal and independent audits, we ensure that our Privacy Policy Conforms to the Privacy Shield Principles, and reflects our organization's information handling practices and the choices our organization offers individuals with respect to the use and disclosure of their personal information. We have self-assessment as well as an independent third-party assessment procedures (which might involve audits, random reviews, use of decoys and other technology) in place for verifying our Privacy Shield-Compliance. We have designated a Chief Privacy Officer (email here) for handling of questions, complaints, access requests, and any other issues arising under the Privacy Shield, and who will transparently and clearly respond to individuals within 45 days of receiving a complaint. Our third party contracts contain the following terms: Data only be processed for limited, specified purposes consistent with the original consent; They must provide the same level of protection as the Shield's Principles; and Notify Hearken if they can no longer meet this obligation and if so, to either cease processing or take other reasonable and appropriate steps to remediate. Our Data handling policies are up-to-date, state-of-the-art, and completely implemented; and include information security policies, access controls, and procedures for investigating any data breaches. For dispute resolution provider, we plan to sign up to a European DPA.
