Purpose of Data Collection
TaskRabbit is a technology platform that provides an online, bi-lateral marketplace, connecting users who need tasks completed to other users in their neighborhoods willing to perform such tasks. TaskRabbit collects personal information such as a user's name, address, geographic location of your computer or mobile device, telephone number, email address and financial information only if the user voluntarily choose to share such information with TaskRabbit for it in order to operate and make available the TaskRabbit platform, to connect users to facilitate transactions and payments, for billing, identification and authentication, and fraud prevention, to analyse website/app usage and improve our products and the TaskRabbit platform, to contact our users, to promote our own products, and to provide customer support. We also collect certain information regarding which pages users access or visit, and other automatically collected device information such as a user?s mobile devices unique device ID, the IP address of such user's computer or mobile device, such user?s operating system, the type of Internet browsers such user uses, and information about the way such user uses our platform. We may provide users' personal information to companies that provide services to help us with our business activities to help us provide the TaskRabbit platform functionality as described above. These companies are authorized to use user personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us. If a user signs up to the TaskRabbit platform via a third-party platform, we may share personal information with such partner to analyse the success of the partnership. We use anonymous information for internal marketing purposes. TaskRabbit may also disclose user information to third parties if we determine that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with the law or protect any person from injury.
