Purpose of Data Collection
Automattic’s WordPress VIP service provides website hosting, support and professional services to enterprises. Automattic will process personal data collected via the WordPress VIP services by WordPress VIP clients (“Clients”) such as information about Client’s customers and visitors to the Client’s public-facing websites or intranet sites that are hosted or supported by WordPress VIP (“Client Sites”) in participating EU countries, the United Kingdom and Switzerland (“Client Personal Data”). Client Personal Data typically includes information relating to end-user accounts (if any) on a Client Site (such as username and email address) and any content containing personal information on a Client Site. Automattic treats each Client as a data controller of Client Personal Data and processes such data on behalf of Clients as a data processor. Automattic discloses client Personal Data only to Automattic’s third-party service providers who help provide the WordPress VIP services to Clients and where disclosure is legally compelled.
