Purpose of Data Collection is a web analytics service that customers install on their own web sites via javascript tags. Data about visitors is collected to generate interesting and useful reports on web site traffic to our customers. This data is also used for security purposes, e.g. to help identify ad fraud and hackers. The following data are sent to us when a visitors visits a page with our code installed: Page URL, Page title, Referrer, User agent, anonymized IP address, Language, Screen resolution, Mouse event X/Y coordinates, Tracking cookie. The tracking cookie contains a randomly generated 32bit unsigned integer, to help better identify unique visitors and to track the same visitor across multiple domains **for the same customer only**. In other words, we don't use cookies to track the same person across the entire internet and build profiles on their behavior. Many of our customers have multiple web sites and it is helpful to them to track a single visitor across all of the web sites that are in their account. IP addresses are anonymized by default but customers have the option to log full IP addresses. To do so requires changing settings however, and we require customers to disclose the full IP logging in their sites' privacy policies. Typically sites use this feature for security reasons. Clicky is a freemium service, which means we make money directly from (some of) our customers, hence we do NOT need to share any of our data with any third parties to make money. The only data available to third parties is anonymous general web browser/OS marketshare trends.
