Purpose of Data Collection
Ribbon Communications and its affiliated companies (collectively "Ribbon") provides a wide range of industry leading communications products and services. In this context, Ribbon collects and processes personal data in connection with: (i) customer relations management, (ii) product and service provision and fulfillment including technical support, (iii) provision of certain hosted solutions for enterprises and communications service providers, (iv) provision of user enhanced and customized website experience, and (v) sales and marketing activities. Personal data may pertain to current, prospective and past customers, resellers, partners, vendors, suppliers and subcontractors, and service end users. Depending on the product or service being consumed, provided or subscribed to, this data may include business contact information, Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI), messaging, voicemail, video, and media files, cookies and web beacons. Ribbon discloses personal data to its affiliates and its service providers (i) as set forth in the Privacy Policy for the purposes described above, and (ii) to verified third parties when required in compliance with enforceable and mandatory subpoenas, court orders and associated legal obligations. In connection with prospective, current and former employees, consultants and subcontractors, Ribbon processes human resources information in a reasonable and lawful manner in order to (i) fulfill its obligations under applicable employment laws and employee agreements and contracts, (ii) perform employment verification, (iii) perform personnel planning, personnel controlling, personnel development and personnel reporting, (iv) record working hours, (v) administer benefits, and (vi) maintain and protect the organization's information systems and networks. This data includes data associated with (i) enabling effective communications - email address, mailing address, telephone numbers, (ii) company identifiers, (iii) compensation, benefits and leave information, (iv) employment history and performance, (v) government issued identifiers, (vi) facilities access records, (vii) networking and communications data, and (viii) payroll, banking and finance information. Ribbon discloses human resources data to its service providers and, where required, applicable government agencies as described in the Employee Privacy Policy.
