Purpose of Data Collection
Oracle provides a broad range of hosted, remote and on-site computer-based services to our customers, including cloud services, consulting services and advanced customer support services, technical support services and training services. The Privacy Shield obligations will apply when a customer and Oracle have agreed by contract that transfers of customer personal information, including customer HR data provided to Oracle as part of the provision of those services, from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland will be treated pursuant to the Privacy Shield for the relevant services. When conducting those activities as a data processor on behalf of EEA, UK, or Swiss customers, Oracle holds and/or processes personal information provided by the EEA, UK, or Swiss customer at the direction of the customer, which acts as a data controller. For clarity, Oracle's certification applies equally to the operations of companies Oracle has acquired over time that link to one of the policies listed on this certification.
